A growing body of literature is documenting hybridization between species that naturally co-occur, but historically have not hybridized, in human transformed ecosystems (e.g., disturbance-mediated hybridization). Though widespread, we know little about how disturbances break reproductive isolation because disturbance-mediated hybridization has only recently garnered attention in the genomic era.
